Terms of Service
Last updated June 2, 2026
By creating an account or using Subtext, you agree to these terms. Please read them — they're short.
What Subtext is
Subtext offers interpretations of messages and suggested replies. Every read is “a read, not a verdict” — it includes a confidence level and an alternative interpretation. Outputs are suggestions; you decide what to send and are responsible for your own messages.
Acceptable use
Use Subtext for your own conversations. Don't use it to harass, manipulate, deceive, or do anything illegal, and don't upload content you don't have the right to share.
Accounts, plans & billing
The free plan includes a limited number of decodes. Pro is a paid subscription billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal; access continues until the end of the current period. Pricing is shown transparently with no hidden renewals.
No professional advice
Subtext is a communication aid, not therapy, legal, or professional advice. It can be wrong. Use your own judgment, especially for important relationships and decisions.
Disclaimer & liability
The service is provided “as is” without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, Subtext isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the date above. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
